The Guest Account

The Guest account is unlike other user accounts in that:

  • It may be shared by an unrestricted number of people
  • More than one person may use it simultaneously
  • It has a pre-defined User ID - 'guest'
  • It has pre-defined permissions - offering read access to the Documents module and the Help menu
In effect, it provides a free - yet controlled - means of accessing documents.

A member of either the Security or System Managers group must set the password for the Guest account. This may be done at any time from menu item:
—> Edit
—> Password.
A new password may be set without knowing the current password

A person may then log in using the 'guest' User ID and the password. Everyone using the Guest account shares the same User ID and password.
