Audits - Overview

The purpose of internal audits is to verify that what was planned is actually happening in practice - and is effective in meeting objectives. They provide a structured verification and feedback mechanism, and an opportunity to consider risks and initiate corrective / preventive actions.

The Qudos 3 Audits module will help you to more effectively plan, perform and record your internal audits. They may be related to safety, environment, quality, food safety, or any other compliance or business management issue. The module may also be used to record external audits by customers, certification bodies or others.

The primary component of this module is the Audit Schedule. You may filter the schedule to display only those audits that fit selected criteria. You may schedule new audits, complete audit records, replicate them for future use, and communicate audit results by various means. From each Audit Record you may link to a reference document. You may also generate an Action form from each checklist item or from the overall summary for detailed action planning / tracking.

Audits form part of the 'Check' process in Dr. Deming's PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, and all leading management system standards have a requirement for internal audits.
