Security overview
The data contained within your Qudos 3 database and the associated documents folders is a valuable asset, and appropriate security measures should be taken to protect it.
Access control
The application includes security facilities to control access to the information
contained within it. Individuals should be assigned a User ID and Password,
and joined to one or more pre-defined groups to give them the appropriate
access permissions. The following and other pages in this security section of
the Help file explain more
about the security facilities in Qudos 3.
Database
With the exception of external documents (which are discussed below), Qudos 3
maintains all its data in an MS SQL Server database. For installations hosted by
Qudos, backup arrangments are in place. Where the installation is self-hosted by
the customer, suitable backup arrangements need to be made.
Documents
In Qudos 3, the Integrity and security of documents is greatly enhanced by
automatically uploading of documents to nominated folders on the server. Once again,
for installations hosted by
Qudos, backup arrangments are in place. Where the installation is self-hosted by
the customer, suitable backup arrangements need to be made.
The security of your Qudos 3 installation should be considered as part of a wider information security management plan.
