How to change a Password

Notes:
  1. Any person may change their own password.
  2. Mmembers of the System Managers or Security group can create new passwords for other users without entering the old password - very handy when someone loses their password
  3. A password must contain at least one number and be at least six characters long
  4. Passwords are case-sensitive - so watch your CAPS LOCK key!

Steps - From anywhere in the application:

Step Action Result
1 Choose menu item:
—> Edit
—> Password
Opens Change Password form
2 In the User ID field, click on arrow and select a user Displays User ID
3 Enter the Old Password (this step is not required for System Administrators For security reasons, the characters you type are not displayed - just a series of stars
4 Enter the New Password For security reasons, the characters you type are not displayed - just a series of stars
5 Enter the New Password again in the Confirm field For security reasons, the characters you type are not displayed - just a series of star
6 Click Save button Saves changes. 'Password has been changed successfully' message is displayed. If there are any differences between the entries in steps 4 and 5 above your password will not be changed. This form is one of the exceptions to the rule, whereby saving does not also close the form. This is to allow system administrators to make numerous password changes without having to re-open the form each time
7 When finished making changes, Click Close button Closes form
