How to plan action on an objective

From the Summary tab of the Objective form:

Step Action Result
1 Click Action button If there is currently no Action linked to this objective -
An Alert box will be displayed with the message "There is no Action linked to this Objective - Do you want to create one?". Click OK button to open a new Action Form. This will be automatically linked with the Objective. Please note that some fields are automatically completed for you. This automation is provided as a time-saving convenience, and you can change the automated entries if you wish. The exception is the 'How Raised' field, which is locked in as 'Objective' to maintain the integrity of the data. 'Objective'
If an Action is already linked to this objective -
Opens the linked Action Form.
2 Complete Action form in the normal fashion  
3 Click Save button Saves your changes
4 Click Close button Closes Action Form and returns to the Objective form
Notes: There will now be a permanent two-way link between the two forms.
  • From the Edit Objective Details form, click on the Action button to view the Action Form.
  • From the Action Form, click Source button to view the Objective form.

Qudos 3 includes the facility to make documented procedures directly available from both the Objectives and Action modules. Your organisations' business rules for those activities may be viewed from the relevant Procedure buttons, or Select menu item:

—>View Procedure
in main list forms.

If the Objective is of a substantial nature, requiring numerous actions to be taken, it may be appropriate to use the initial action as a 'Project Management' tool that links to up to 99 subsidiary actions via its 'Related Actions' tab.
