Benchmark - Compliance References
Most compliance standards have a requirement for organisations to continuously seek improvement. Planning for future improvement implies knowledge of the current situation. Indeed, standards such as ISO 9001 have clauses that explicitly require monitoring and measurement of product and processes. Therefore, a key component of any compliance management system should be to measure performance against relevant criteria - to guide preventive, corrective and improvement actions, and prioritise resources where they may be of greatest benefit. QUALITY and AUTOMOTIVE QUALITY
The term 'Benchmarking' generally refers to a quality management tool for comparing
the performance of a team or organisation against others. Information on benchmarking
may be obtained from various sources.
The facilities in the benchmark module could be used to help address various clauses of the quality management standard ISO 9001:2008, and automotive quality management standard ISO/TS 16949:2002, including:
