Benchmark - Overview
The Benchmark module is the 'dark horse' of Qudos 3. Most users are familiar with the need to manage documents, issues and actions, audits and risk, and welcome the suite of integrated tools provided. However, the Benchmark module can offer a lot more. If your organisation can benefit from considering the performance of its product or services, business units or suppliers against key criteria - and perhaps comparing them against each other - then the Benchmark module will be of interest to you.
The primary component in this module is the Benchmark Assessments List. This may be filtered to display only those assessments that meet selected criteria. You may create a new Benchmark Assessment or edit an existing one. You may generate an Action Form from each checklist item, or from the overall assessment. Your assessments are categorised, and these categories are entirely user-definable. For example, you may set a category for a customer survey, or for assessing the performance of the couriers or transport companies your organisation uses.
You can create a copy of any assessment. This can save a great deal of time setting up multiple assessments, and can also ensure accuracy and consistency. You can also display a Summary Report - comparing results for all assessments within a selected category.
Benchmark assessments use a combination of user entries for an initial value and a weighting factor (for how important the item is considered to be). From those figures, the application calculates a score for each item, a total score (sum total of all scores), and an average assessment score (sum total of all scores divided by the number of items).
It is suggested that you first ensure that suitable options for 'Categories' and 'Overall assessment' are made available BEFORE you start entering any data.
